Catching Up With Friends

Today was one of those days where I am reminded how awesome my life is. I had a chance to catch up with sweet friends from my high school lacrosse team and then went to watch one of my bestest friends try on wedding gowns. OBVI I cried. Because, let's be real, I cry all the time. Currently crying at Gossip Girl while I write this, actually. Sorry not sorry.

What with all the socializing and all, eating right was extra difficult today. I did get a bit of exercise in today when Briggs and I went on a nice walk around my neighborhood today. I didn't really eat a full lunch, but I haven't decided if that is more good than bad?

ALSO, my mom and brother made home-made Chex mix which I had a few nibbles of before my GLAX reunion. So, so, so good.

Some pics from this BEAUTIFUL day

Not sure whose house this is but loved how the sun looked!

Catch you fools later!

Goals

I figured this was a pretty solid way to officially start off my first blog post. You can't really start a journey without goals!

As a super important person in my life recently reminded me, I'm a very goal oriented person. I constantly need to be motivated by something. Monthly sales goals at work are a stronger driving force than the paychecks I make.

BUT back to the point. These goals aren't all health related. It's super important- I think- to have varying time lengths for your goals. So, after all that here are mine:

SHORT-TERM:
  • lose 5 more pounds by the time I go back to school January 5.
  • start saving money so that I'm not broke for the last 14 days of each pay period.

SEMESTER-LONG:
  • work out/exercise/be active for at least 45 minutes, 5 times a week.
  • keep up with my school work so I'm not swamped around finals (a goal every semester.......let's make it happen!!)
  • get my GPA up to JOMC standards

LONG-TERM:
  • fit into a size 4 by July 27
  • form healthy habits that become second nature
  • start working out longer and longer each week that passes
  • graduate in May 2014
  • find a real world job

Now is when I have to figure out how to make all these happen. Prioritizing my goals like this should help from day-to-da decisions like "should I go to cinco?" to more significant decisions like "which of these internships should I pick?"

Happy Friday, everyone!

My #1 Ground Rule

Never...EVER....ever make rules that you can't do or eat anything. From experience, that's an instant way to fail.

Plus, red wine is good for your heart right?

Here We Go!

Well...here is my first blog post! I'm starting this blog out as a way to help keep myself motivated as I work towards a healthier way of living. I've done just about every type of diet you can imagine, but it's just so hard to keep up with them! As my mom keeps saying, it's not a diet- it's a lifestyle change. So, here I am, prepared to change it!

I hope you'll join me on my journey and maybe this blog can help you just as much as I hope it helps me. I plan to post any fun new workouts, recipes, and overall thoughts throughout this process.

Here's to A Changing Lifestyle and here's to a happier, healthier me!
